Change Your Flight

Date and time changes can be made through Manage Booking. Xpress Flex allows a free date change more than 3 days before departure. Other fares carry change fees as per fare rules. Route changes are not permitted.

Download Boarding Pass

Update Passenger Details

Before You Fly

Restricted Items

Certain items are not permitted under civil aviation rules.

• Sharp objects, including knives and scissors, are not allowed in cabin baggage
• Flammable liquids and gases are not permitted in any baggage
• Power banks must be in cabin baggage only
• Liquids in cabin baggage must be in containers of 100 ml or less in a transparent resealable bag

Airport Check-In

Arrive at least 2 hours before a domestic flight and 3 hours before an international one. 

For domestic flights, counters close 60 minutes before departure for flights from metro cities and 45 minutes before departure for non-metro cities.

For international flights, counters close 60 minutes before departure. Please note: Delhi is an exception. Counters close 75 minutes before departure.

All international passengers go through immigration and customs on arrival. Declare dutiable goods and check current Indian duty-free allowances with the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs before packing return luggage.

Flight Booking Tips

Getting the most out of your Air India Express booking comes down to a few practical habits worth building before you search.

• Book 3 to 6 weeks in advance on most routes for competitive base fares. For Onam, Eid, Diwali, and Christmas travel, booking 6 to 8 weeks ahead is the safer approach.
• Tuesday and Wednesday departures generally carry lower base fares than weekend slots. Early morning flights are usually priced more competitively than peak evening departures.
• Always save your correct email and phone number on your booking. Missing contact details can cost you your right to compensation during disruptions.
• Use Fare Lock to hold your chosen price for up to 7 days. It costs Rs. 500 for domestic and Rs. 850 for international bookings.
• If denied boarding involuntarily, you are entitled to compensation of up to Rs. 10,000 or Rs. 20,000 depending on how long the delay to the alternate flight is.
• Keep your PNR accessible at all times. You will need it for web check-in, Manage Booking, and any refund or compensation claims.
• Pre-book add-ons at the time of booking. Prices for meals, seats, and extra baggage are always lower during booking than at the airport counter.
• If your flight is cancelled with less than two weeks' notice, you are entitled to either a full refund or a free alternate flight, not just a credit shell.
• Book directly on airindiaexpress.com or the Air India Express app. Third-party platforms charge convenience fees and bookings made through them do not help you earn NeuCoins.
